How to add page numbers
- Open the PDF in UnsentPDF.
- Choose “Header, footer and page numbers…” in the toolbar.
- Pick a layout, such as “Page 1 of 9” at the bottom right, or type your own text with {page} and {pages}.
- Choose the page to start on and the first number, then Apply. The pages show the numbers straight away.
- Choose “Export PDF” and save.
What the result keeps
- Numbers follow the pages as they are arranged when you export: reorder, insert or delete pages and they renumber.
- Page numbers and headers are real text: searchable and selectable.
Why it stays private
UnsentPDF is a web page that does all its work on your device. Your PDF is read by your browser and never sent to a server, not even ours. Once the page has loaded, it also works offline. How to check this yourself.
Good to know
- Headers and footers are one line each, in the left, centre and right positions.
